TOMO & EDIE ORGANIC HAND DYED KIMONO - MADDER ROOT AND INDIGO
TOMO & EDIE ORGANIC HAND DYED KIMONO - MADDER ROOT AND INDIGO
TOMO & EDIE ORGANIC HAND DYED KIMONO - MADDER ROOT AND INDIGO

Kusakizome is a traditional Japanese dye technique using materials from nature. The process is all-natural, and the results are unique earthy colors that celebrate life and the seasons.

A Tomo&Edie one-of-a-kind kusakizome baby kimono is the perfect gift for a discerning new mother who is looking for something uniquely wonderful for her little one.

Each kimono is hand dyed using certified 100% organic cotton and all-natural dyes.  A work of art for the special baby in your life.

Color:  Denim Blue and Light Orange

Plants used:  Madder Root and Indigo

Significance:  Good Fortune and Protection From Harm

We love that the 2 dyes used to make this kimono make it doubly meaningful.  Madder root has been used for centuries throughout the world to achieve deep reds and orange.  The rich madder colors symbolize the rising sun and new beginnings.  Indigo has been widely popular throughout Japanese history because of its natural insect repelling properties.

Kusakizome kimonos are designed to fit babies from 0-12 months.  Yes, these hand dyed organic kimonos are a little pricey - but at least you know they will be worn for quite a while!
